The Chicago Colts defeated the St. Paul Saints by a score of 6 to 2 at SAFECO
Field.
 
St. Paul was unable to claim the lead after Chicago went ahead in the top of
the 7th inning with 2 runs on 2 hits.  Jose Bautista opened up the inning
nicely when he was hit by a pitch.  Prince Fielder followed and he laced a
one-base hit.  Dan Uggla then drew a walk to load the bases.  One out later,
Ryan Freel got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim.  Jason Kendall
stepped into the box and was hit by a pitch plating a run.  Edgar Renteria
kept the rally going and hit a single scoring the final run of the inning.
Chicago rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Joe Beimel(3-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Beimel got help from Salomon Torres who earned his 1st save.  Jarrod
Washburn(4-5) took the loss.
